Secretary General’s Message
Hey,
I welcome all prospective delegates to ITM-MUN.
For many of us here, MUN-ing has become a way of life. It is a part of who we are, what we do and how we live .It has successfully redefined our way of thinking and our methods of action and implementation of these thoughts.
A MUN is a fascinating format for a discussion where you will don the role of delegates of various nations .You will discuss, deliberate and debate over some of the most vital and pertinent global issues. As you will see in the council links, every council has its own agendas which are all of international significance and tackling these issues usually takes months, if not years of global diplomacy. This is where we prove our mettle .In our sessions at ITMMUN we shall strive to come out with comprehensive and precise resolutions which should and which could be the solution to these problems. I am confident that this will be attained and we shall all go home extremely proud of ourselves.
Also we have an extremely capable and talented executive board and feel privileged to work with them .I am confident with them as your secretariat, not only will ITM-MUN be enlightening, fast-paced and innovative as far as the discussion is concerned but the results of your interaction with them in council, I assure you will change your perspective of the world as we know it .Also the International Press Corps consists of the best in the business.
Due my current dealings with the ITM team, I am confident that each and every person who is a part of this MUN will have an amazing time. It is commendable, how well planned and well thought out everything about ITM-MUN is and the credit goes to them.
Finally, there are only a few organizations and a few people in the world who possess the capability to change the world. The UNO is one of these organizations. Are you one such person?

Deputy Secretary General’s Message
Dear delegates,
Terrorism, Neo-imperialist tendencies, Violence against Women, Environmental catastrophes, AIDS and poverty are a few of the myriad number of challenges that we as a global community are confronting today in a bid to continue our sustenance on Earth. The latest advances in telecommunications have enabled us to get in contact with our loved ones on the other side of the world merely through a click of a button when at the same time more than 2/3 of our fellow brethren have never even laid there hands on a key board. Innovation in the medical field has resulted in the creation of vaccines which now are able to prevent cancer and six decades ago even eradicate the virulent small pox which consumed over a million lives but yet pandemics just as lethal as small pox such as HIV AIDS continue to consume the lives of well over 2 million people in the world in 2007 alone. While the most glaring contrast of all which is often highlighted in the media, when one part of the world sees people suffering from massive bellies another part of the world witnesses children that are so emaciated, a result from a lack of food that they can easily be mistaken for 80 year old man or women.
The world is yearning for individuals who are willing to step up to the plate and challenge these contrasts in order to ensure that Information Technology is not a privilege for a few but an essential effective right for everyone, to ensure that an HIV positive patients access to anti-retroviral drugs should not be contingent on how much money he/she can pay to a corrupt official but rather contingent on his/her medical needs and to ensure that the basic three meals a day is a norm not something to be cherished once a week.
Despite the extraordinary opportunities on offer for individuals to take on the mantle to rectify these contrasts, many conceive the concept of education as one which is restricted to text book theory in their field of study meant to help them reach a better status in life without realizing that it is a tool to help us improve the lives of those around us. I myself learned this message recently through the character of “Rancho” played by Aamir Khan in “Three Idiots”, a movie which I’m sure you would know more about than me.
I thank you most heartily for taking the initiative to take part in this year’s conference which clearly shows your commitment and dedication towards exploring the possibility of applying your knowledge and skills which you have procured in helping others less fortunate. I assure you your participation in this conference would leave you with lasting benefits especially in comprehending the phenomenon of human relations, a fundamental pre requisite necessary for helping you achieve your dreams. We at ITM-MUN appreciate people who think BIG, we appreciate people who are willing to throw caution to the wind and challenge authority for the sake of creating a better environment but most of all we appreciate people who are willing to try and make the most of this conference.
Intensely excited at the prospect of meeting you.
